August is here so let’s take a look at the best new releases for this month.

NCIS Season 15

NCIS is not stopping, and it’s going strong on its 15th season! Fans sure can’t get enough of our favourite team of special agents, headed by Leroy Jethro Gibbs.

Gibbs and McGee remain missing in Paraguay, and the search continues. Upon their return, the two of them have to pass the psychiatric assessment before resuming work. The team continues to investigate cases after cases surrounding crimes in the Navy and the Marine Corps. A new agent, Maria Bello, is introduced to the team, while our cherished Gothic forensic specialist Abby Sciuto leaves the team for good to fulfill Reeve’s wish in London.

Poldark Season 4

 

Aidan Turner reprises his role as Captain Ross Poldark for the fourth season in this beloved 18th century-set TV series.

The arrogant George Warleggan goes on a power trip as a magistrate, when he orders the hanging of the people engaged in a riot. However, it is in Ross’ hands to protect the people. Thus, the two of them stand up against each other for a seat in the parliament. Ross does gain a place in the parliament, but Warleggan has some malicious plans. Meanwhile, Ross and Demelza’s marriage continues to be challenged.

 The Good Doctor Season 1

Freddie Highmore, who previously starred in “Bates Motel” TV series, takes on the role of Shaun Murphy, a surgical resident diagnosed with autism and savant syndrome. This medical drama TV series is based on a 2013 South Korean drama. “The Good Doctor” is from “House” genius, David Shore.

Shaun first proves his surgical ability in the airport when he operates on a victim of a shattered glass following the fall of an airport sign. But because of his diagnosis, the president of the hospital, Dr. Aaron Glassman, has to convince the board to hire him. His attention to details usually brings him trouble, but it’s his difference that eventually saves the lives of patients he encounters.

Patrick Melrose

If you love Benedict Cumberbatch, then we are sure you will love “Patrick Melrose.” This five-part miniseries is based on the novels by Edward St. Aubyn.

This TV drama deals with the life of Patrick Melrose, who lives the prestigious life as an English aristocrat, but also deals with the haunting past from an abusive father and an irresponsible mother. Each episode showcases Melrose’s complicated life and how he overcomes his childhood trauma. The drama also shows that a dysfunctional family and substance abuse can also destroy even the people in the upper echelon of society.

Mystery Road Season 1

This six-part drama series should be a staple in every Aussie home.

Two young farm workers have gone missing while in an outback cattle station. Detective Jay Swan, who investigates the mysterious case, must team up with Emma James, a local cop. However, the investigation breaks open the wounds of the past that will affect the community.

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society

At the end of World War 2, the survivors in the island of Guernsey attempt to rebuild their lives by forming a book society as a front. It was this mysterious little group that gets the attention of London-based author Juliet Ashton after one of the members writes to her regarding a book by Charles Lamb. The result is an exchange of letters between her and the book club members.

Avengers Infinity War

A year will never be complete without a Marvel movie. This title is a must-have if you haven’t seen the movie in the cinema. And hey, you can watch this movie as many times as you want!
