The new CHiPs movie coming!
The number of cop TV shows and movies you have seen are probably way more than the days in the calendar. Year after year, actor after actor, cop TV shows and movies never go out of style. Whatever the genre, you name it—action, drama, romance, thriller. You might even have delved into non-English titles and still enjoyed them, or even wished for police procedural TV shows to be turned into movies. Whatever police division, there are always stories to tell, and each story is as unique as the next.
Speaking of police TV series, you’re probably remember the 1970’s “CHiPs” show that was massive at the time. You’re probably one of the many fans who enjoyed the series way back in the late 70s, and who waited every week for each new episode. Yes before DVDs and even before VHS, like what? You’re probably one of the fans who were saddened when the last episode of the last season aired on TV. Don’t you lie, we know you were thrilled when the reunion TV movie was aired back in 1998. And you’re probably one of the many fans who, during the dawn of the video, bought out all episodes of CHiPs.
Who says CHiPs ended there? Well, guess what? Hollywood is bringing CHiPs to the big screen next month! Prepare to go crazy, scream at the explosive action, and laugh out loud as our California Highway Patrol motorcycle cops Jon Baker and Frank Poncherello hilariously and dutifuly patrol the streets, fight crime, and save the day.
(Wait, will we get to see the signature highway pileups like what we see in the TV series? Well, we have to wait to see!)
Dax Shepard, who wrote and directed the movie, stars as Officer Jon Baker, and Michael Peña stars as Officer Frank “Ponch” Poncherello. A day in the streets of Los Angeles wouldn’t be complete without these two on patrol! These buddy patrol cops may have different personalities, but they still get along to get their jobs done right. This time, they are faced with an ex-cop and his henchmen who are creating a massive uproar throughout the streets of L.A.
“CHiPs” also include a string of great actors like Vincent D’Onofrio, Kristen Bell, Adam Brody, Rosa Salazar, Vida Guerra, Jessica McNamee, and Ryan Hansen. We know we will enjoy this movie, and we know you will too! If you’re a fan of the TV series, then you’re off to the pictures to see this movie but also preorder the Chips DVD now.
